Munster Camogie Council will hold its annual convention on Sunday February 7th 2010 at Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork. Officers for the 2010 season will be elected. There are no new nominations for positions. Fixtures for the 2010 season will also be on the Clár as well as motions and bye-laws.
Reports from the various committees, secretaries, counties and treasurer will be documented at the convention. Munster Camogie Council is delighted that Uachtarán Cumann Camógaíochta na nGael Joan O’Flynn will be in attendance at the convention.

Mass for Nell McCarthy Monday, November 09, 2009 (375 reads)
Fr. Ronnie Neville will celebrate Mass at 6pm in Croke Park on Saturday 21st November in memory of Nell McCarthy. Nell a native of Carrigtwohill, Cork served Cumann Camógaíochta na nGael as a player and administrator but is best remembered as the renowned trainer/coach to Dublin camogie teams for many years. They were the halcyon days of Dublin camogie when many All Ireland titles were won.
Nell trained/coached Celtic camogie teams for years and then Phoenix for a short time before retiring. She served as Chairperson of the Dublin County Board and later was elected to the office of President. Fr. Neville the celebrant knew Nell, his sister ,Eithne was involved in camogie for many years. Patricia Timmons-Woods who played for Dublin will sing at the Mass.

The All Stars presentation evening will be held on Saturday 7th November in CityWest Hotel, Saggart.The forty five nominees were announced earlier this week. The All Stars team will be announced on the night of the 7th.This year sees the introduction of the "Soaring Star Camogie Awards" for the top 15 intercounty players who competed in the Junior League and Championships. The winners of these awards have already been announced (see News for further details). The awards will be designed and crafted by Jarlath Daly the renowned sculptor, who also crafts the All Star Awards.
The Young Player of the Year and the Manager of the Year will also be announced on the night.
This is our social highlight of the camogie year and we hope that all units will support the event. It is important that clubs and County Boards support their players. The Guest of Honour will be announced next week.
Tickets cost €75 each. Ticket order forms with booking details can be downloaded from link below. Closing date for receipt of ticket order forms and payment is Tuesday 3rd November. Tickets must be presented for entry on Saturday the 7th. The evening will start with a reception at 7pm, followed by dinner and entertainment.
Accommodation at CityWest must be booked directly with the hotel; the cost is for B&B is €88 single, twin or double. The contact is sdoherty@citywesthotel.com; please quote your attendance at the Camogie All Stars to avail of this rate.

Cavan Camogie held a development day for U17 players on Saturday 10th October in Lacken GFC. The aim of the day was to introduce their players and coaches to mental preparation, nutritional information, flexibility and injury prevention. As well as this the players were given practical coaching sessions in dynamic stretching, goalkeeping, forward play and defensive play.
