Purcell kicks off this weekend with the holders Queens taking on the hosts, Mary I in Maynooth.
Playing with Queens will be scholarship recipient Colette McSorley and for Mary I Young Player
 of the Year for 2008 and Clare star, Carina Roseingrave will be lining out.

Next week, neighbours & rivals NUIM will be up against Athlone which promises to be a good game.
AIT were Purcell winners in 2007 while Maynooth are holders of the shield.
