Cumann Camógaíochta na nGael launches 'Night at the dogs'

Joan O’Flynn, President of Cumann Camógaíochta na nGael, players Eimear Brannigan and Mary Leacy joined Jonathan Dever, Leinster Sales Executive Irish Greyhound Board, Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium in Shelbourne Park to launch the Camogie Association’s benefit night which will be held in Shelbourne Park on the eve of the All Ireland hurling final on September 5.

 

Speaking at the launch Camogie President O’Flynn said, “I am delighted that Shelbourne Park, an iconic venue, will host the friends of Camogie on the eve of this year’s All Ireland Hurling Final which is also a huge night in the greyhound diary with the Derby semi-finals. Camogie, as the fastest and most skilful female sport, will feel right at home here.  

 

“Hurling Final weekend is a special weekend in Ireland’s sporting calendar. On its eve, in Shelbourne Park, the Camogie, hurling and greyhound families will be united in what’s sure to be a great night’s fun, a great sporting occasion with lots of excitement and entertainment guaranteed”.

 

Paddy Ryan, Managing Director of Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium added, “We at Shelbourne Park are delighted to be hosting a National Fundraiser for The Camogie Association. This is a first for us, hosting an all-female sporting organisation benefit night. We wish them every success and are looking forward to their event.”
