Coaching and Games Development Committee
Terms of Reference
Subject to the overall jurisdiction of Ardchomhairle (Central Council), the Coaching and Games Development Committee shall:
Shared terms of reference
• Establish and oversee the implementation of a five year Coaching and Games Development strategy
• Liaise with Coaching Ireland, Irish Sports Council, the GAA and other relevant bodies concerned with coach education, Camogie within the Education sector, participation, inclusion and games development
• Provide regular reports to Ardchomhairle and a report to Annual Congress.

Coach Education Courses:
Camán Coach Camogie is the new coaching programme devised by the Camogie Association.
Caman Get A Grip
This 8 hour course over 2 days is an introduction to coaching ansd is the first step on the coaching ladder. The course qualifies coaches to coach 6-9 year old Camogie players. Entry Requirements: Applicants must be 16 years of age. Cost: €30 per person. Both Clubs and county boards can apply for a course. Minimum 12 participants on a course. Max 24 participants on a course..
Caman Get Hooked
This level 1 course is of 20 hour duration and qualifies coaches to coach 10-14 year olds. Entry Requirments: Applicants must be 18 years of age and have completed the Camán Get a Grip course or GAA Foundation Child Award. Cost: €70 per person. Both Clubs and county boards can apply for a course. Minimum 12 participants on a course. Max 24 participants on a course.

The Technical Advisory Group (TAG) of the National Coaching and Training Centre (NCTC) now 'Coaching Ireland' has developed a draft model for Long-Term Player/Athlete Development. The main phases of the model are explained below. Please note that not all players will smoothly assimilate to all phases in a perfect manner. Many will develop different capacities at different rates. These phases have been adapted to Camogie for the development of a Camogie Player Pathway.
