Clare topped their group courtesy of score difference after a three-way tie for top spot with Galway and Kilkenny. Dublin finished as runners-up in their group, suffering only one defeat to Cork who topped the table, and come into this match on a run of three straight wins. Neither side has won a Minor A title before and will hope to go a step closer by reaching the final.

Antrim topped their group with a 100% record after three comprehensive victories. Antrim haven't won the Minor B title since 2007 and will be confident of reaching the final given their current form. Laois finished second in their group after wins over Armagh and Derry, only losing to table-topping Kildare. Kildare were dominant in the group stage with a 100% record and will fancy their chances of reaching the final as they hope to win the Minor B title for the very first time. Meath secured impressive wins against Down and Westmeath as they finished second in their group after a single defeat to table-topping Antrim. The Royal County last won this title in 2015.

Table-topping Roscommon secured victory in all three of their games in the group stage to reach this year’s final, where they will have a spring in their step as they seek to regain the title which they last won in 2015. Carlow finished as runners-up in the group, suffering their only defeat against Roscommon when both sides met in March. Carlow are aiming to win the Minor C title for the first time since 2010.
