Golden Ticket Trip 2017!
 
Register your club to be in the draw. If chosen your under 10's will play in a Super U10's blitz on one of the following dates:
Senior Quarter Final (Aug 5th), Premier Junior Semi Finals (Aug 12th), Senior Semi Finals (Aug 19th) or Intermediate Semi Finals (Aug 20th).
 
They will receive tickets to attend the championship match after their blitz and also Golden Ticket for Croke Park for All Ireland Final (Sept 10th) where they will be in draw for €1000 & Lap of Honour!

Ulster Poc Fada
 
Wednesday June 14th saw the Ulster Poc Fada Final take place on Cuilcagh Mountain, sitting on the Cavan/Fermanagh border at Blacklion, the home of Shannon Gaels GAC. The splendid course, which had over 100 people on it, set not far from Marble Arch Caves saw 26 Competitor aiming for glory.
 
Both Ladies Competitions were completed over a 1.6km course in what turned out to be very close events. Orlagh O'Hara from Cushendall Antrim won the Senior Ladies with 11 Pocs and 67metres.  While Roisin McCormick from Loughgiel, Antrim won the U16 Ladies just 7m behind the senior winner (11 Pocs 60m).
 
All competitors, spectators and officials were welcomed back to the Gowlan Community Centre and treated to a great spread by Cuilcagh Catering. The winners of both U16 and Senior camogie in each county received two tickets each to the All-Ireland Camogie Finals in September. Presentation was done by Ulster Camogie secretary Rosemary Hughes-Merry.

Connacht Poc Fada
 
The Connacht Poc Fada was held on Monday July 3rd at the Connacht Centre of Excellence in Bekan County Mayo.
11 participants from Roscommon, Mayo and Galway took part on what was a difficult wet night for the Poc Fada competition. Well done to all who braved the elements.

Wicklow Camogie Summer Camp
 
The annual Wicklow Camogie summer camp took place this week in the Centre of Excellence in Ballinakill, Rathdrum, County Wicklow.  A total of 55 girls from across the garden county converged on Ballinakill on Tuesday morning to receive expert coaching from Dublin Senior Hurler Ben Quinn, Dublin Minor Camogie player Niamh Owens and club coach Paddy McCauley.  Thank you to the organisers, county development officer Breda Donnelly and Dublin Club GPO Patrick Baker. 
 
 
 
 
Longford Schools Blitz
 
A primary school blitz was held recently in Longford. A great turn out by schools from across the county.  Well done to all 6 school who participated in the Camogie.

Talking Camogie
 
The first night of ‘Talking Camogie’ was held this week in Claregalway. A good turnout on the night seen various members of the association discuss the different topics of interest and some new ideas in relation to:
  • age eligibility for adult club and inter county Camogie
  • and the structure of the All-Ireland minor championship
The initiative also includes an opportunity to discuss how you would like to change the playing rules of Camogie.  All members of the Association are asked to get involved at the various locations around the country. Have your say and register now for ‘Talking Camogie’!
